1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AfterZero ("the Platform," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Platform.

These terms apply to all users including students, teachers, parents, and principals.

2. Description of Service

AfterZero is an AI-powered educational assessment platform that provides:

• Automated quiz generation using artificial intelligence
• Student assessment and performance tracking
• Analytics and insights for educators and parents
• Multi-role dashboards for different stakeholders
• Learning materials and theory content management

3. User Accounts and Registration

3.1 Account Creation

• Accounts are created through unique registration codes provided by your school
• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining account confidentiality
• One person may not share an account with others

3.2 User Roles

The Platform supports four user roles, each with specific permissions:

• Students: Take quizzes, view performance, access learning materials
• Teachers: Create quizzes, manage classes, grade submissions, view student analytics
• Parents: Monitor children's performance and quiz results
• Principals: School-wide oversight, user management, comprehensive analytics

3.3 Age Requirements

Users under 13 years old require parental consent through their school. Student accounts are created and managed by authorized school personnel.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

4.1 Permitted Use

You may use the Platform solely for educational purposes within your authorized organization.

4.2 Prohibited Activities

You may not:

• Share your account credentials with others
• Attempt to access another user's account or data
• Use the Platform for commercial purposes
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
• Copy, modify, or distribute Platform content without permission
• Use automated systems to access the Platform (except approved integrations)
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Submit false or misleading information
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

5. AI-Generated Content

5.1 Quiz Generation

Our Platform uses OpenAI GPT-4 to generate quiz questions from uploaded documents. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors. Teachers are responsible for reviewing and approving all AI-generated quizzes before assigning them to students.

5.2 Automated Grading

Short answer and essay questions may be graded using AI. Teachers retain the right to review and override AI-generated grades.

5.3 Content Accuracy

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content. Educational institutions are responsible for verifying content accuracy.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Platform Ownership

The Platform, including all software, designs, text, graphics, and other content, is owned by AfterZero and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 User Content

You retain ownership of content you upload (documents, quizzes, learning materials). By uploading content, you grant us a license to use, store, and process it to provide the Platform services.

6.3 AI-Generated Content

Quizzes generated by AI from your uploaded documents belong to your organization. We do not claim ownership of AI-generated educational content.

7. Payment and Subscription

7.1 Enterprise Licensing

AfterZero is offered as an enterprise solution to educational institutions. Pricing is determined on a per-organization basis.

7.2 Payment Terms

Payment terms are specified in your organization's service agreement. Non-payment may result in service suspension or termination.

8. Data Privacy and Security

We take data privacy seriously. Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information about how we collect, use, and protect your data.

We comply with GDPR, COPPA, and India's DPDP Act to protect student privacy and educational data.

9. Service Availability

9.1 Uptime

We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance windows may be scheduled with advance notice.

9.2 Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes.

10. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

10.1 As-Is Service

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be error-free or meet your specific requirements.

10.2 Educational Decisions

The Platform provides tools and analytics to support educational assessment. Final educational decisions remain the responsibility of teachers and school administrators.

10.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AfterZero shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold AfterZero harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by You

You may request account deletion by contacting your school administrator or emailing info@afterzero.app.

12.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms, non-payment, or if required by law.

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your access will be revoked. Data retention follows our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be notified via email or Platform notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable international data protection laws including GDPR and DPDP. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
